North Olmsted Eagles Soar Early & Often Over Fairview 69-14

North Olmsted, Ohio-

The Fairview Warriors won the toss and decided to receive the opening kickoff. The Warriors went through a quick 3 and out and lost 13 yards on their first drive. The Warriors punted to the Eagles and the Eagles took over on their own 39 yard line. Eagles QB Xavier Balson threw an amazing pass and hit WR Jared Kelley in stride along the far sideline with no one within 10 yards of him and ran untouched into the endzone.

The Warriors were penalized twice on their ensuing drive and it forced a punt on a 4th and 38th. The Eagles took over on the 50 yard line. The Eagles next drive ended with a touchdown pass from Balson to WR Collin Willard from 4 yards out.

The big play on the drive was a pass from Balson to Collin Willard for 46 yards. Eagles 14 Warriors 0 with 6:30 left in the first quarter. The next Warriors drive stalled once again and they were forced to punt back to the Eagles.

Eagles WR Jared Kelley caught the punt on his own 27 and ran the punt to paydirt for a 73 yard punt return touchdown. Eagles 21 Warriors 0 with 4:51 left in the first quarter.

On the first play of the next Warriors drive RB Xavier DiGennaro started to run up the middle; The ball was stolen out of his by Eagles DB Nick Tepper.

The Eagles took over on the Warriors 31 yard line. On the first play of the Eagles next drive QB Balson ran to the endzone untouched from 31 yards out and it made the score Eagles 28 Warriors with 3:10 left in the first quarter.

The Warriors next possession began on their own 44 yard line. The Warriors QB Nate Glanc threw a rainbow to WR Sal Rizzo and Rizzo pulled it in with one hand and ran to paydirt.

The scoring started early in the second quarter for the Eagles with a pass from QB Balson to WR Denver Scott from 25 yards out. Eagles 35 Warriors 7 with 11:19 left in the second quarter.

The next Warriors possession ended with a fumble by RB DiGennaro as it was scooped up by Eagles DL Daniel Furdui with no return.

On the second play of the Eagles next drive RB Jared Kelley ran the ball to end zone from 5 yards out to make the score Eagles 42 Warriors 7 with 9:41 left in the second quarter. The Warriors punted the ball back the Eagles after a 3 and out.

RB Jared Kelley took an end around for 51 yards to pay dirt to make the score Eagles 49 Warriors 7 with 7:00 left in the second quarter. The next possession with the first play of the drive RB Jared Kelley ran the ball 80 yards through 3 missed tackles to make it Eagles 56 Warriors 7 with 4:53 left in the second quarter.

Eagles DL Daniel Furdui was able to scoop up another fumble by Warrior RB DiGennaro with no return on the next Warrior possession.

Eagles QB Balson scrambled for a 24 yard touchdown and it made the score Eagles 62 Warriors 7 at the half.

The second half began with a running clock. The Eagles decided to have their second string offense on the field for the second half as well. The Eagles methodically moved the ball down the field and the drive ended with a score. QB Dominic Costello threw a slant pass over the middle to WR Brayden Pavlus for a 21 yard touchdown. Eagles 69 Warriors 7 with 5:54 left in the third quarter.

The Eagles player of the game is RB Jared Kelley who finished the game with 6 carries for 124 yards and 4 catches for 103 yards and a 73-yard touchdown return for 5 total TD’s.

The Warriors player of the game is Sal Rizzo with one catch for 65 yards and 1 touchdown.

The Eagles(3-2) travel to Westlake next week

The Warriors(1-4) travel to Elyria Catholic next week
