The North Olmsted Hot Stove 10U program will be playing for a championship this Sunday in the Regional Tournament Championship Game. If they are successful, they will then go down to States and battle for the biggest prize of all, a State Championship! This is truly the ultimate Cinderella story as this group went 3-13, just three years ago.
It was then that they began working harder and practicing during the winter and the effects were felt. Last year was their first major taste of success as they were Regional Champions and made it to the final game and fell short to become State Runner-ups. This team set out with a goal to get back there this year and so far, they are on track!
This year they are off to a 20-2 record and are highly regarded as one of the best teams in the state. They still have 6 players on the roster from the original Farm Minor team of 5-6 year old t-ball and coach pitch. Manager Allan Poole and coaching staff have added a piece or two each year to get to their current roster.
This is the ultimate story of heart, passion, work ethic and never giving up on a dream! Their next game will be the regional tournament championship this Sunday the 9th, at noon in Columbia station. They will play the winner of Fairview Park and North Ridgeville.
A full roster of the team can be found on page two. However, before we get to that roster, I want to leave this amazing group of young men and their parents, their coaches, and everyone who believes in them with this one quote from Carl Jung.
“Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakes. Your vision will become clear only when you can look into your own heart.”
A full lineup can be found on page two. Good luck Eagles, time to soar!
