North Olmsted Eagles Defeat Westlake Demons 7-4 On The Softball Diamond Monday Night

A single by Morgan Outrich put North Olmsted on the board in the bottom of the first.

North Olmsted added one run in the second after Lena Costello hit into a fielder’s choice.

The Westlake Demons jumped into the lead in the top of the fourth when Rachel Nash singled, scoring two runs, and an error scored one run.

North Olmsted went into the lead in the bottom of the fourth when Cydney Loucka induced Sara Gilley to hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored, and Adriana D’Alessandro singled, scoring two runs.

Elena Scott started in the circle for North Olmsted. The righty allowed six hits and four runs (two earned) over seven innings, striking out nine and walking none.

Loucka took the bump for Westlake and the righty allowed nine hits and seven runs (two earned) over five innings, striking out one and walking six.

D’Alessandro and Outrich were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits for North Olmsted. Outrich went 2-for-4 at the plate as the left fielder led the team with three runs batted in.

Jocelyn Suckart stole two bases for North Olmsted while the Eagles worked the count all day, collecting seven walks.

Trudy Rocco and Nash were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits for Westlake while hitting back-to-back. Nash led Westlake Varsity with three runs batted in.  Nash went 2-for-3 on the day.

The North Olmsted Varsity will travel to Westlake for their next game on Tuesday of the home and home series.
