Todays Eagle Youth Shout Out goes to young Mackenzie Quarles. This wrestling prodigy is off to a fast start as she could quite possibly be the face of North Olmsted Women’s wrestling as she grows older and works through the program that has taken off like wildfire. In fact, the program has grown to the point that Molly Lehman just signed on to attend Baldwin Wallace next year and wrestle for the Yellow Jackets. There is a serious future in this sport!
This dynamic, hardworking and driven 8-year-old competed at the 61lb weight division this year and dominated! Her record for the year was 36-2 and she stacked up quite a bit of gold on the way.
Mackenzie took 1st at the Ohio Quest Girls State tournament. She took 2nd at the OHway State and 3rd at OAC girls state.
Athletic ability runs in the family as her sister Abby plays basketball for the Junior High program, recently wrapping up her 7th grade season.
Way to go Mackenzie!
