North Olmsted Varsity Eagles took the lead late and defeated Fairview 3-2 on Monday. The game was tied at two with North Olmsted Varsity Eagles batting in the top of the seventh when Dominic Costello doubled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run.
The pitching was strong on both sides. Alex Meyer struck out seven, while Leslie sat down five. In the second inning, Fairview got their offense started. Fairview scored one run on a stolen base. In the top of the sixth inning, North Olmsted Varsity Eagles tied things up at two. Patrick Carlton drove in one when Carlton singled. Meyer got the win for North Olmsted Varsity Eagles. The righthander allowed six hits and two runs over seven innings, striking out seven and walking one. Leslie took the loss for Fairview. The pitcher allowed six hits and three runs over seven innings, striking out five. Costello led North Olmsted Varsity Eagles with two hits in four at bats. |
