Normandy Improves to 3-1 With 42-7 Win Over Fairview

Story by Chuck Galeti

It was Thursday night football tonight at Byers Field as the Normandy Invaders (2-1) hosted the (1-2) Fairview Warriors. The Invaders would strike first. On 4th down, sophomore quarterback Elijah Gray would get the first down and whole lot more as be rambled 33 yards to put Normandy up 7-0.

Gray later in the quarter would throw a strike to Jacob Havranek down to the Warriors 3. On the next play it was Gray around the right side for his second touchdown of the quarter to make it 14 0 Invaders.

The first play of the second quarter Normandy’s Curtis Starks would score on a 9-yard run and the route was on 21 – 0 Normandy. But the play of the night and maybe the season came later in the second when Curtis Starks would ramble 96 yards for his second score of the quarter. The run was truly incredible as Starks not only stayed in bounds, cut back and did 360 he also broke about 5 tackles.

Elijah Gray would add a touchdown throwing this time as he hit junior Austin Knocking on a 34-yard touchdown to make it 35-0 nothing at the half. Normandy goes onto win over Fairview 42-7. Next up for the 3;1 Invaders another Thursday night matchup as Lakewood visits Byers Field next week.
