No. 15 Aurora win 24-7 at Barberton

BARBERTON, Ohio — The Aurora Greenmen football team remained undefeated Friday following a 24-7 victory over the Barberton Magics. The Greenmen are 5-0 overall, 2-0 in the Suburban League American Division, while the Magics fell to 3-2, 0-2 with their second straight loss.

The Greenmen used a balance attack to move the ball with quarterback Nolan Sotka throwing for 122 yards, completing 12 of 14 attempts and one touchdown. He did it while being under pressure all game and sacked several times. Sotka also rushed 14 times for 36 yards.

Aurora kicker Robby Albrecht connected from 20 yards to make it 10-0 in the second quarter.

Zane Ries connects with Khalil Dunem from 26 yards to make the game 10-7 in Aurora’s favor at the half.
Sotka’s 16-yard touchdown pass to Gavin Blunt helped put the game away at 17-7 with under nine minutes to go. It was a picture perfect fade in the corner of the end zone. It came two plays after his 6-yard rushing touchdown was called back for holding.
Parker Blunt finishes the scoring with a pick six late in the fourth quarter.
