There is no retirement plan when it comes to the world of Pro Wrestling. That is why you see even the biggest stars of their time such as Stone-Cold Steve Austin take any Hollywood job, or podcast opportunity they can get, to keep that income streaming in based on their name alone. We’ve also seen this more and more when it comes to WWE Hall of Famers making one off appearances in AEW for a quick pay day as well.
Sting in AEW is just another reminder that no WWE or WCW legend is off limits to jump ship and join them. While Sting was more so a WCW throwback along with Arn Anderson and DDP, there have still been plenty of WWE Hall of Famers to show up and become an active part of the show as well. Those men include Jim Ross, Jake The Snake, Mark Henry, The Big Show, Bret Hart, Mike Tyson, Billy Gunn, Snoop Dogg, Greg The Hammer Valentine, Jeff Jarrett, The Rock N Roll Express, Alundra Blayze, Erich Bischoff, Tully Blanchard and several others.
It’s funny, it’s been so long since we’ve seen him, but I’m sure fans remember that Tully Blanchard was once a part of the MJF Faction “The Pinnacle” as he was guiding FTR and Shawn Spears at the time. The fact of the matter is this, no matter how many time fans claim loyalty would make it impossible for a WWE Legend to show up on AEW, it continues to happen time and time again. Up to, and including Ricky The Dragon Steamboat.
With the exception of Shawn Michaels, The Undertaker, Kurt Angle, JBL, Trish, Lita and Stone Cold Steve Austin, I can make a case for any other WWE Hall of Famer to suddenly show up for either a cameo, or a long-term run. This includes the Immortal Hulk Hogan whom Tony Khan recently removed the lifetime AEW ban on.
On page two, you will find a list of WWE Hall of Fame Men and Women, that you shouldn’t be shocked to see on AEW TV one day, regardless of their current status with the WWE.
