Mogadore, OH– On October 21st, Mogadore kicked off their 10th game of the season against Rootstown. Mogadore won with 34 points, while Rootstown was restricted to 14. Hundreds of fans supported their teams on the cold and windy night. Rootstown’s season ended with a 7-3 record and Mogadore finished 9-0, respectfully.
First Half
Rootstown dominated the first quarter as they scored a 20-yard pass completion for a touchdown. The extra kick was good, bringing the score to 7-0. Mason Williams from Mogadore answered back with a 60-yard rushing touchdown. The extra kick from Austin Constantine was good, knotting the score 7-7.
Mogadore’s defense did a phenomenal job tonight, beginning with an interception that took place on the Rovers’ 38 yard line. Unfortunately, Mogadore was unable to score off of the interception and turn possession over on downs. The first quarter ended tied 7-7.
Mason Williams from Mogadore continued dominating the first quarter with a 36-yard rushing touchdown. The extra point was missed. With only a few minutes left in the quarter, quarterback Zeke Cameron from Mogadore threw a 71-yard pass completion to running back Corey Lehner for a touchdown.
The two point pass was completed from Cameron to Lehner. The score at the end of the first half was 21-7 with Mogadore in the lead.
Second Half
Mogadore came out after halftime dominating the third quarter. Williams scored a four-yard rushing touchdown. The extra kick was completed by Austin Constantine. It did not take long for the Wildcats to put more points on the board as Maddox Smith scored on an eight-yard rushing touchdown. The extra point was missed, ending the third quarter with Mogadore in the lead 34-7.
Mogadore was able to secure the game when Trevor Davis recovered a fumble from Rootstown, taking over on their 39 yard line. Mogadore’s junior varsity defense and offense were switched into the game. The Rovers were able to squeeze out one more score with a 70-yard rushing touchdown. Mogadore won the game 34-14.
