CLEVELAND, OH – The Bryant Bulldogs hung tough early as they remained tied at 14 and we were already 11 minutes into the action. They did a good job defending the post and making the Spartans work for everything. A few moments after that, a Rafeal Pinzon three pointer gave the Bulldogs a 19-15 lead.
After Bryant built their lead to 24-21, the Spartans went for 10 straight points take a 31-24 lead with 2:15 left to play in the first half. The Spartans went on to take a 33-28 lead into the break. The Spartans made most of their run while Earl Timberlake was out of the game, nursing a wound to the head.
The Spartans came out of the second half shooting the lights out, hitting three ball after three ball to run the lead out to 42-33 with 17:31 left to play. Shortly after that a Coen Carr put back slam dunk gave the Spartans their first double digit lead of the day at 46-33 before a 7-0 Bulldog run, tightened it back up again at 46-40 with 14:27 left to play.
From there, it was all Michigan State as they cruised to a 87-62 victory.
