Mexico named host for 2024 Concacaf Women’s U-17 Championship

For the draw, the eight teams have been split into four pots according to their ranking as of September 2023:

Pot 1 (pre-seeded): Mexico (A1) and United States (B1)
Pot 2: Canada and Haiti
Pot 3: Costa Rica and Puerto Rico
Pot 4: El Salvador and Panama

Teams will be placed into Groups A and B according to the order they are drawn, with no more than one team from each pot per group.

The competition’s complete match schedule will be announced after the official draw.

In the previous edition of the Concacaf Women’s U-17 Championship, played in the Dominican Republic in 2022, the United States won its fifth title after defeating Mexico 2-1 in the final. In the third-place match, Canada topped Puerto Rico 3-0 to secure a birth for India’s 2022 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup.

In June of 2023, the FIFA Council appointed the Dominican Republic as the host of the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup 2024. This will be the first time the Dominican Republic hosts a FIFA World Cup and their first participation at this age level. Further details on the 16-team World Cup will be confirmed by FIFA in due course.
