Stow, Ohio – Senior quarterback Danny Stoddard threw four touchdowns Friday evening as Medina rolled to a 48-18 victory over host Stow-Munroe Falls.
Throughout his career, Stoddard has been known for his air ability. He can also make an impact with his feet as well. Taking advantage of a short field, Stoddard rushed for a 30-yard touchdown to give Medina an early 7-0 lead.
Stow recovered a fumble on a punt, setting up shop deep in Medina territory. However, the Bees held them to a 28-yard field goal off the leg of Davis Broghammer. It took three plays to add to their lead, however, as Danny Stoddard found Austin Knowles for a 21-yard touchdown reception.
Medina would score once again, as Cooper Josefczyk scored from a yard out, increasing the Bee lead to 21-3.
Danny Stoddard tossed another touchdown in the second quarter, finding Brayden Walker for a ten yard toss, upping their lead to 28-3. Late in the first half, Jacob Harrington rushed for a one-yard score, and Daylon Keeling caught the ensuing two-point try from Joey Lehner. This cut the Stow deficit to 28-11 going into halftime.
Stoddard would threw another pair of scores in the third quarter. The first, to Nathan Angus, from four yards out, pushed the Medina lead to 35-11. After a turnover, Stoddard tossed his fourth score of the game and second to Austin Knowles, a 22-yarder, further increasing the lead to 41-11. Knowles had nine catches for 111 yards and the two scores.
In the fourth quarter, Jacob Harrington found Nick Hosey for a 14-yard touchdown reception to stop the running clock with 8:48 to play, and cutting the deficit to 41-18.
Senior quarterback Chris DePasquale scored from four yards out to cap the scoring for the Bees.
Medina hosts Olentangy Liberty next Friday, August 25th.
Stow-Munroe Falls travels to Barberton next Friday, August 25th. Daylon Keeling had 12 catches for 143 yards for the Bulldogs. Jacob Harrington went 21 of 35 passing for 222 yards passing.
