Magnificat’s Julia Hall & Reese Roggenburk Win 2025 At Large MVP Honors

*** AT LARGE STANDS FOR NON-CONFERENCE. KEE ON SPORTS MAINLY COVERS SWC, CWC AND GCC THUS JULIA HALL AND REESE ROGGENBURK WOULDN’T QUALIFY FOR CONFERENCE MVP AS MAGNIFICAT DOES NOT PLAY IN A CONFERENCE.  THUS, I LOOKED AT THE 67 OTHER SCHOOLS WE COVERED THIS SEASON OUTSIDE OF THE CWC, GCC AND SWC AND CHOSE THE TWO BEST PLAYERS OF THAT GROUP TO NAME OUR AT LARGE MVP’S. THIS WOULD HAVE BEEN THE SAME IF IT WAS A PLAYER FROM HOBAN OR SVSM. REGARDLESS, THESE ARE TWO OF THE BEST PLAYERS IN THE KOS COVERAGE AREA AND DESERVED THE RECOGNITION***

Kee On Sports would like to congratulate our 2025 At Large MVP’s, Reese Roggenburk and Julia Hall. Magnificat had by far one of the toughest schedules in the state.  When you don’t play in a conference, you routinely play the best of the best, and Magnificat did exactly that.  Time and time again, in the biggest moments against the toughest teams, it was Hall and Roggenburk coming up in the clutch to lead the Blue Streaks.

Hall can score at will and because of her strong size, she routinely gets fouled and it is not called.  I call it the “Lebron Effect”, because of a players size, sometimes they don’t react as dramatically to fouls and thus it is not called.  Hall never shies away from the big moment and having the ball in her hands when the game is on the line, this includes clutch foul shots late in games, time and time again.

Reese Roggenburk is the ultimate closer.  Time and time again when an opponent is within 8-10 entering the fourth quarter, it is Roggenburk leading a Blue Streak run to put the game away.  She is also an incredible finisher at the rim.  Reese seems like she gets better each time out and the long term future for her is very bright.  If she was in the CWC or LC8, she’d probably set every scoring record possible.

I dare say that if either Hall or Roggenburk played in the SWC, CWC or GCC they would hold a series of scoring records.  Again, they play against the toughest of opponents and continue to rise above and play well.

The fact is, scoring records are not what they are about, holding true to their values and winning is what they are about and it works. Each of them could demand the ball on the block each and every possession if they wanted, but instead, the play in the system and it works for the benefit of all, that is how winning is done.

I’ll say it as simple as this, they can score and rebound like no tomorrow, they can defend and they can win!  As we head into the postseason these two are by far on everyone’s list to watch.  Congrats to both on remarkable careers as Blue Streaks.

I spoke with their head coach Danny Gallagher who had this to say, “Julia and Reese are two of the best not just in this area but in the state.  What enables them to win this award is their care for their teammates and doing what is best for the team.  They believe in our values and represent them in everything that they do.  They have grown into incredible players on the court but more importantly incredible young women off the court.  We are very proud of them.”
