LAGRANGE, OH – From the first time she set foot on a Keystone basketball court, Mady Sokolowski has made an impact not only to the game itself, but others around her as well. This junior sensation has the Wildcats primed for another long postseason run at a title. It is this reason along with many more as to why we are naming her the Kee On Sports Player of the Year in Division V.
Her Head coach Rocky Houston had this to share about the young woman’s wortk ethic and overall character, “She is such a special player, who is a great teammate and an even better person. Mady’s work ethic sets the tone. When your leader gives everything in practice, it challenges the entire team to do the same. Mady’s willingness to be coached sets the standard. When your leader embraces coaching, the entire team follows”, said the proud coach.
It is no wonder she has become one of the schools all time leading scorers, holding several records along the way. To think she is only a junior and what her final numbers will look like after next year, are almost unheard of. She reminds me of another Grace Kingery of North Ridgeville, who won All Lorain County Player of the year just a few seasons ago. She is a prolific scorer who can take over a game at any moment.
The Keystone Wildcats finished with a record of 19-3 while finishing second only to Firelands in the LC8. They will begin postseason play this coming Saturday as they host Canton South.
Below ( courtesy of coach Rocky Houston ) are just a few of the stats that jump out the most about Mady. Including her remarkable 4.0 unweighted GPA and a 4.5 weighted GPA.
