MAC Power Rankings Week 3

1 – #25 NIU (2-0)

No one deserves this more than the Huskies. Coach Hammocks Huskies defeated Notre Dame at home as they collect another bone for the boneyard. Being Ranked in the MAC boosts you to the top especially when you’re undefeated.

2 – Toledo (2-0)

The only other undefeated team belongs on top of the rankings with NIU. They have had the easier schedule so far but deserve the number two ranking so far.

3 – Bowling Green (1-1)

A strong first game against against an FCS opponent and a near victory against Penn State launches the Falcons to the top of the rankings. Bowling Green had the Nittany Lions on the ropes but ran out of gas at towards the end of the game. Of all of the 1-1 teams I have the Falcons as the best of the bunch.

4 – Miami OH (0-1)

I know they  are winless but I still believe that this team will be the best team in the conference with all the talent on roster. The next two games will be challenging against Cincinnati at home and Notre Dame on the road. Time will tell how good this team really is after non conference play

5 – Ohio (1-1)

After losing to Syracuse the Bobcats earned  a win against South Alabama, This team has a lot of questions but could end up being one of the better teams in the MAC as they pursue a bowl game.

6 – Buffalo (1-1)

They lost to a ranked opponent in what was never a close game, this upcoming week will really determine where this team belongs on the power ranking.

7 – Western Michigan (0-2)

I don’t think they are the seventh best team in the MAC but a losing record puts them down on the bottom half of this conference. Just a good team getting beat up by Power 4 competition.

8 – Eastern Michigan (1-1)

Hard to figure out what this team is and how good they are, for now they sit in the middle until we see who this team is.

9 – Central Michigan (1-1)

Just a bad, bad, bad loss to a team they had no business giving up 52 points to. Hopefully this isn’t the start of a bad trend of giving up major points to lesser teams.

10 – Ball State (1-0)

only team to have played just one game thus far, They will be on the bottom half for now despite the winning record. A win against equal competition will determine where this team will be on the rankings.

11 – Akron (0-2)

Another team that has struggled with Big Ten opponents, we don’t know what this team is and what they could be. Ablow out win against a FCS team will help the move up the rankings.

12 – Kent State (0-2)

They are in the ceiler once again, a strong first half against Pitt would have moved them up above Akron but a FCS loss will keep the Flashes at 12 for while. This team is not ready to compete, it’s hard to tell when they will be.
