- Toledo 2-2 –
Toledo drops two in a row in non-conference, a three-point loss to San Diego State isn’t worth moving down in the rankings. They play Central Michigan next week in an early conference match up that could be a huge decider on who wins the West.
- NIU 1-3 –
Yes, I know they have three losses, but they have played 2 SEC teams tough on the road. Another scoreless quarter hurts their chances for an upset. They play Ball State in their first taste of MAC conference play.
- CMU 1-3 –
Central Michigan fought Penn State in a tough environment, on the road. The Offense looked solid throughout and the defense gave Penn State fits throughout the game Richardson looked promising through out the game but left early due to injury, he should be good to go next week. They have a big-time matchup on the road at Toledo.
- Miami 2-2 –
Miami pulled off the big time upset win putting them back on track after a loss. This win puts them very close to Central Michigan as they look to beat Buffalo to improve their record and move into the three spots.
- Kent St 1-3 +2
It was never in doubt how hard the schedule for the Golden Flashes was to start the season. The toughest game on the calendar ended up being the best game they played so far this year. They stayed within striking distance of the number one team in the nation. They face off against Ohio on homecoming, they are a 10-point favorite going into the game.
- Western Michigan 1-3 -1
Another tough loss for the Broncos out in San Jose, this was an ugly loss for WMU as they gave up 34 points and only putting up six. They look to bounce back this week taking on a 3-1 New Hampshire at home.
- Ohio 2-2 +2
After two losses on the road to power five teams Ohio finally bounces back with a nice win and great performance by Kurtis Rourke for the Bobcats. They travel to Kent State as 10-point underdogs on homecoming. Two teams coming off a solid performance from the previous week.
- BGSU 1-3 –
This week was a big let down to Mississippi state compared to last weeks homecoming matchup they won. They face Akron on the road, should be a tough matchup as they look to get revenge from last season.
- Eastern Michigan 2-2 -2
After a big upset win in Arizona State, they drop a game to a winless Buffalo Bulls team in their first conference game of the year. They drop for now, but they can still recover the season and it starts with a recovery win against UMass.
- Buffalo 1-3 +2
The bottom three teams are flip flopping back and forth through just four weeks. They host Miami this weekend in a MAC east clash, I’m interested to see if Buffalo continues the strong play or drops off.
- Ball State 1-3 -1
Georgia Southern is a very good group five team who has played good football to start the season. Ball State competed throughout the whole game and fell out of it in the fourth quarter. Ball State is only a three-point underdog so it could be an upset game to look out for.
- Akron 1-3 -1
I thought this was a game that Akron could win against Liberty to even up the record. Akron’s defense was tough, sadly the offense struggled to get going despite scoring. They beat BGSU last year, this is decently a game to look out for.
