- Kent State has the most overall talent in the East
Ohio deserves to be in the spot they are in, don’t get me wrong. Kent States talent is deep, and they play well when healthy, the problem is they are never really healthy. Schlee has arrived on the scene as one of the premier QBs in the conference in his first year as a starter. Next year this talent should help them achieve expectations after a disappointing year.
- Central Michigan has a star in Bert Emanuel Jr
Emanuel Jr has stepped up for Central Michigan as a run first QB. He isn’t the main QB but rotates in on specific sets and boy has it worked. Emanuel Jr had 24 carries, 293 yards, and three touchdowns. He also put in a highlight reel play that got his team back into the game after it looked, they main be falling behind Buffalo. He is a Junior so expect him to be featured more as they push for a bowl game.
- Akron proved once again that they are a player or two away from competing
I know I have been high on the Zips this year despite having won only one game this season. Yes, they are losing Shocky Jaques-Louis but they have a strong receiving core returning with DJ Irons. With coach Moorhead getting in his recruiting class and working the transfer portal this team could surprise people next year.
- The Toledo Rockets can push for 11 wins this season
This team has proved to be the class of the MAC as they have clinched the MAC West. If Candles Rockets can win out, win the MAC championship and a bowl game this could be the start of a multiple year run for the Rockets. Winning out will be tough as they welcome in the Flacons from Bowling Green this week, and two post season games. It will be a challenge, but this team has the talent to get there.
- Bubba Arslanian is the best linebacker in the MAC if not the country.
Bubba has not just led his team in tackles this season but the conference and is second In the entire country. He is a senior so unless he has a covid year that he uses, expect him to be in the draft. If you’re a fan of linebackers who hit hard and pursue down the field Bubba is a player, you should follow for these last two games.
