As you look at the MAC this year, one thing stands out and that’s how unbalanced the West is compared to the East once again.
Central Michigan and Toledo look to duke it out for the top spot in the west. Western Michigan and Northern Illinois are right behind the co-favorites as they look to prove the country wrong. Ball State and Eastern Michigan are on the bottom on the West but have solid rosters as they will both push for winning records
The East side has a small drop off compared to their Western counterparts. Miami (OH) was the last East team to win the conference title in 2019. The East has many teams that are currently rebuilding their rosters, Buffalo, Bowling Green, and Akron. Kent State will look to build off their fantastic 2021 season, considering they lost their star QB Dustin Crum. Ohio is second in the East but look for them to battle Miami (OH) for the top of the East.
