Several sources close to the situation have confirmed that pending board approval on the 13th of this month, Lorain High School will be leaving the LEL starting in the winter seasons of 2024 to head to the GCC.
If this occurs, they will be joining Mentor, Brunswick, Strongsville, Shaker Hts, Cleveland Hts, Medina and Euclid. This will give the GCC an even 8 teams creating a more balanced schedule come football season of 2025. As of now, at least one GCC team per week must play an out of conference game.
