The Liberty Center Tigers only needed 14 plays to score 34 points in a wild first half of football. After a Raider three and out, the Tigers only needed two plays to go 46 yards to score. The big strike coming on a 40-yard pass from Grady Miller to Blake Garber. The Tigers are known as a running team, so they used a perfect play action fake to get the Raiders to bite on it big time, allowing the monster play to happen. They scored on the first next play with a Waylon Wentz touchdown.
Following another Raider three and out, the Tigers took a Raider punt, 54 yards back to the house from Cam Kahle to extend the lead to 14 -0, just minutes into the game. After back to back touchdown drives from the Tigers with rushing touchdowns by Aidan Dominguez and Dylan Smesko tied it, early into the second quarter, the Tigers went back to work.
Tied at 14, they used a short field to go 42 yards for a touchdown. The big play coming on a 21-yard pitch and catch to Jaxton Lawniczak before scoring a few plays later on a Garrison Kruze touchdown run. From there, the defense tool over again picking off Raider quarterback Tristan Toy and taking over at the Tiger 29. It was only a few plays later that they scored on another Wentz touchdown run to make it 28-14 late into the first half.
The wild scoring wasn’t done yet however, as another wild play was only moments away. Zander Zeiter stripped a Raider ball carrier and took it back 26 yards for another touchdown. Just like that, it went from being 14-14, to 34-14, and pretty much game over.
The Tigers added touchdowns from Garrison Kruze and Thomas Mohler to finish the scoring, and head to Canton on the wings of a 48-14 win.
