Keystone led big and often in a 68-42 victory at North Olmsted tonight. Liam Goran shot the lights out by hitting 7 from deep in an impressive 27-point effort. Colt Cowling also balled out by sinking 15 points as Emory Fedor tallied 8. Bobby Gurich put in 6 while Ty Holzhauer and Devin Thigpen-Walker scored 5 each.
The Eagles fought hard to make up ground in the second half but could never pull within twenty once they got down by twenty plus. They were led by Dominic Martin with 13 while Anthony D’Alessandro put in 11 and Jake Perkins scored 6. Cory Kraft got hot in the third quarter with 5 while Chuck Shuck scored 3. AJ Ryant had two more while Nick Fratini finished the Eagles scoring with two big foul shot conversions.
A D’Alessandro three ball stopped a quick 5-0 run for the Wildcats before Keystone went on an 8-0 run to expand the lead to 13-3. Dominica Martin stopped that run but the first quarter was all Keystone as they raced out to a 22-9 lead after one.
The second quarter was Liam Goran improving on his impressive 8 point first quarter with a 9 point second quarter as the Wildcats pulled away. The first four minutes were dominated by the Wildcats as they started it with a 15-4 run. Martin stopped the run at 37-15 but it was too little too late as the Wildcats took a 44-16 lead into the break.
A couple of Cory Kraft buckets got the Eagles moving early in the third quarter as they outscored Keystone 11-6 in the first four minutes. It wasn’t to be however as the Wildcats eventually pulled away again for the 68-42 victory.
Special shoutout goes to the North Olmsted JV team with their second straight victory earlier in the night.
