Brimfield, Ohio – Kent Roosevelt defeated host Field, 58-33, in the regular season finale for both teams on Saturday afternoon.
The Riders went on top by finding junior forward Desmeal Leigh on a layup. Jayden Reynolds followed up by knocking down the first of his two threes in the first to increase the lead to 5-0.
Due to their efforts on both ends of the floor, the Riders would end the first quarter up 18-6.
Kristian Daetwyler, one of two seniors on the Rough Riders, knocked down a three to increase their lead to 24-9. But Field would chip into the lead a bit, starting with a jam from Bryson Silveus, and free throws from Jacob Gartner, making the score 27-15 at the half.
In the second half, the Riders would pad their lead. Junior guard Gavin Leslie knocked down a jumper from long range, and another basket.
Despite a Bryson Silveus triple to end the third quarter, the Falcons could get no closer than 11 points the rest of the way.
In the fourth quarter, the Riders would pad the lead and pull away to secure the win.
Junior forward Desmeal Leigh had 13 points for the Riders, and junior Seth Bowers chipped in 11.
Field senior forward Bryson Silveus had 16 points, including a rim-rattling jam in the second quarter to get the crowd going. Senior guard Jacob Gartner added ten.
