Kee On Sports Magazine Volume 1: “The Genesis”

Crown Jewel took place from Mohammed Abdu Arena on the Boulevard in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on Thursday October 21.  below is the recap and reactions from Vince McKee

WWE

The Uso’s defeat The Hurt Business to retain the Smackdown Tag Championships

Recap – No real surprises here.  The Hurt Business had no business in this match and continue to be used to elevate other teams.

Edge defeats Seth Rollins in a Hell in a Cell

Recap – Edge used a chair, a chain, a table and finally a curb stomp to put Seth Rollins away. A lot of HIAC matches lately have been poor, this one was not.  A total war inside the cage that kept the hits coming and put Edge over in the trilogy.

Mansoor defeats Ali

Recap – I actually like this, I love how they are keeping him undefeated in his hometown and they gave him a quality opponent to work with.  The match itself was fast paced and exciting and I know it’s early, but I think Mansoor may have a bright future with WWE.

Team RKO retains their RAW tag Championships over AJ Styles & Omos

Recap – I’m just glad to see this finally come to an end, and sincerely hope that this means AJ is headed back to a singles career.

Zelina Vega wins the Queens Crown Tournament

Recap – Terribly booked tournament has an ending no one will remember.  It is smart to book it for a heal to go over at least.

Goldberg defeats Bobby Lashley

Recap – As bad as Summerslam, this one was better.  Goldberg went toe to toe and left everything they had out there. Goldberg remains a hero in Saudi, and the fans popped when he speared Lashley off the ramp through a table.  15 foot high at least.

Xavier Woods wins The King of the Ring

Recap – Not since The Shield, has a group went on to win so many titles and gain such prestige.  Woods is jut the latest to fulfill his singles dream.

As for Fin Balor, who is one of the top 3 babyfaces in the entire company, they continue  to have him lose every big match.  They did that to Daniel Bryan too, then he left!

Big E Langston retains his WWE Championship over Drew

Recap – I’m okay with this because it builds Big E as a legit champion like he deserves to be.  Also, Drew will bounce back quickly from this when he shows up on Smackdown and challenges Roman.   Although, Roman will first focus on Big E as you recall he was attacked recently by the Uso’s.

Becky Lynch retains the Smackdown Women’s Championship

Recap – So Becky will defend the Blue belt on the Red Brand.  Interesting spin on things as Charlotte will be doing the same. Do they clash at Survivor Series in a winner take all?

Roman Retains his WWE Universal Championship by pinning Brock Lesnar

Recap – This was the perfect way to end a show in which we knew no titles were changing hands.  Heyman tossed the belt exactly between Lesnar and Reigns as the ref was knocked out.  Whomever grabbed it first, would win the right to use it on their opponent.  Sure enough, Reigns walks away with a tainted win and the storyline can go on a little longer.
