Kee On Sports Magazine Volume 1: “The Genesis”

The Food Report

By Vince McKee

There are a lot of things going on in the world of fast food these days, but perhaps none bigger then everyone’s favorite cult classic, the McDonalds McRib is now back on the menu for the holidays.  Also, making a big return to the Golden Arches will be another favorite, the Holiday Pies!

Subway is also in the news again this week as customers and researches have confirmed the findings of tracings of glue, and paint chips mixed in with their tuna.  We’ll have to keep on eyes on that as a lot of readers start new diets after the first of the year, with Subway tuna being a staple of those diets.

Burger King is attempting something new with spicier nuggets and also “Impossible Nuggets.”  BK is basing the concept of the Impossible Nuggets from their success with the Impossible Whopper which seems to be a hit amongst fans. I’m not sure how I feel about this one as Burger King already got rid of a the highly popular Chicken Fingers, and now this.  Sometimes, you should never mess with a good thing.

While fast food fans may be rejoicing the new and returning menu items coming their way, a recent survey was done to find out which discontinued fast food items customers miss the most.

1980s: Cheesarito, Taco Bell
1984: McDLT, McDonald’s
1986: Seafood Salad, Taco Bell
1987: Burger Bundles, Burger King
1980s: McDonald’s Pizza, McDonald’s
1990: Mighty Wings, McDonald’s
1991: McLean Deluxe, McDonald’s
1993: McLobster, McDonald’s
1997: Big n’ Tasty, McDonald’s
1998: Cini-Minis, Burger King
2010: Ribs, Burger King
2010: The Double Down, KFC
2012: Bacon Sundae, Burger King
2013: Grilled Stuft Nacho, Taco Bell
2013: Satisfries, Burger King
2014: The Waffle Taco, Taco Bell
2014: The Biscuit Taco, Taco Bell
2015: French Toaster, Sonic Drive-In
2016: The Whopperito, Burger King

Fast food items apparently aren’t the only items fans want back, another survey showed the chips of the past that fans want another chance at “crunching”.  I cannot say I agree with most of these, but hey, to each their own I guess.
