Harrison Butker nailed a 27 yard field goal with 8 seconds left to play, to hand the Kansas City Chiefs a 38-35 Superbowl LVII victory.  The dramatic last second field goal was part of a furious Chiefs rally that saw them score 24 points on 4 drives to defeat the Philadelphia Eagles.

Mahomes overcame a banged up ankle to throw for 182 yards and 3 touchdowns with no interceptions. However, the biggest play for Mahomes came on a nearly 30 yard run on the Chiefs final drive to place them in field goal range.  He ran for 44 yards on the night.

His biggest weapons tonight were Travis Kelce with 81 yards on 6 catches with a touchdown.  Also catching touchdowns for the Chiefs were Sky Moore and Kadarius Toney in the win. The leading Chiefs rusher was Isiah Pacheco with 76 yards on 15 carries with a touchdown.

The Eagles were led by a one man wrecking crew named Jalen Hurts who proved the moment was not to big for him as he played amazingly well.  Hurts went for 70 yards on the ground with three touchdowns and threw for 304 in the air with another touchdown, Hurts was incredible!

Hurts top threats were AJ Brown with 96 yards and a touchdown on 6 catches.  DeVonta Smith hauled in 7 catches for 100 yards, with several big ones.

The first half was dominated by the Eagles as they controlled the ball for 21:54 of the 30-minute span.  The Eagles ran 44 plays next to the Chiefs 20.  The reason the game was so close however at just 24-14 Philly was the fact that one of those plays was a fumble by Jalen Hurts that was returned 36 yards by Nick Bolton for a Chiefs touchdown.

With the small exception of that tiny miscue from Hurts, he had a magical first quarter as he became the 1rst player to rush for a 2 touchdowns and throw for another in a Superbowl first half.  Hurts, went 17 of 22 for 183 yards with a 45 yard touchdown pass to AJ Brown.

The Eagles started with the ball and drove 75 yards on 11 plays in 4:51 to score.  The touchdown came on a Jalen Hurts 1 yard rumble.  Mahomes and the Chiefs wasted no time answering with a 6 play 75 yard drive of their own that resulted in a Travis Kelce 18 yard touchdown catch to tie it.

After both teams failed to score on their following drives, the Eagles put up points on the first play of the second quarter with the above mentioned Hurts to Brown touchdown.  It had looked for a moment on their next drive that they would extend the lead to 21-7, but the defensive fumble recover by Bolton tied it up.

The final portions of the quarter were all Eagles as they used another touchdown run by Hurts and then a 35 yard field goal by Jake Elliot to take a lead into the break. Making matters worse for the Chiefs is that on their final drive of the half, Mahomes appeared to re-injure his already banged up ankle, and hobble off the field.

The Chiefs wasted no time getting back into it to start the second half.  They took the opening drive of the half 75 yards in 10 plays cashing in on a Isiah Pacheco 1 yard touchdown run to cut the lead to 24-21.  The Eagles were able to tack on a 33 yard field goal by Elliot to extend the lead to 27-21 as the quarter came to a close.

The Chiefs started the third quarter exactly how they started the half, with another score!  This time, Mahomes led them on another 75 yard drive in 9 plays, capping it off with points on a 5 yard touchdown pass to Kadarius Toney to hand Kansas City their first lead of the game at 28-27.

After a stalled Eagle drive, Toney stuck again.  This time, he took a punt return 65 yards inside the Eagle 10-yard line to set Kansas City up in prime territory to strike again. They took advantage moments later with a Mahomes to Sky Moore for a 4-yard touchdown pass as the Chiefs scored on their first three drives of the second half to build a 35-27 lead.

The Eagles answered again as a 46-yard strike from Hurts to DeVonta Smith on their next drive put them in prime position to score. One play later it was Hurts scoring his third rushing touchdown of the game to draw the Eagles within 2 at 35-33.  They went for the tie right then and there with 5:15 to play.  They got it as it was Hurts again doing it with his legs to tie it up.
