John Cena Turns Heel, Aligns With The Rock to Challenge Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania

John Cena won the Elimination Chamber and then minutes later, turned against Cody Rhodes by attacking him.  In the process, aligning himself with The Rock and now challenging Rhodes for his World Championship at WrestleMania in April.  Cena sold his soul to the WWE and years ago and now turns heel for the first time since 2003.  It all makes sense now and Cena’s final run with the company will apparently be as  a “bad guy” in perhaps the most shocking heel turn in wrestling since Stone Cold aligned with Vince McMahon at WrestleMania X7.  And perhaps the biggest of all time, even surprassing Hulk Hogan joining the nWo.

This is was just one of several shocking developments tonight that helped add to the WrestleMania card.  Other such developments are as such:

Jade Cargill returned to attack Naomi and eliminate her from the Women’s Chamber match. This will set up their match at WrestleMania and also conclude the “who done it” storyline of who assaulted Cargil last fall as clearly it was Naomi and possiblt Bianca Belair.  Speaking of the EST, she won the match and now will most likely challenge Rhea Ripley for her World Women’s Championship at WrestleMania.

Also returning was Randy Orton to prevent a further post match attack by Kevin Owens on Sami Zayn. Owens won the match and will now take on Orton at WrestleMania.  Where Zayn fits in, is anyone’s guess at this point but it is clear a Owens vs Orton match is all but signed.

The men’s chamber match led to a few sure things for Mania such as:

Seth Rollins vs CM Punk as Rollins cost Punk the match after Punk eliminated Rollins.  This will more then likely see Roman Reigns enter into the feud to make a three man match.

Damian Priest caused Drew McIntyre to lose, just like he did at the Royal Rumble.  Then, minutes later, a Drew sneak attack caused Priest to lose as well.  This sets up a WrestleMania rematch between the two as you may recall, it was Priest cashing in on Drew at last years event.

Other matches already set up are

Tiffy Time defending her belt against Charlotte and Gunther defending his against Jey Uso. Expect more to be added soon including a ladder match for the WWE Intercontinental Championship as well.
