While it seems like every other day I’m reporting on another restaurant closing, I believe it is time we bring one back. BD’s Mongolian Grill located at 1854 Coventry Rd, Cleveland Heights, OH 44118 was a family favorite! Google described it as a Casual chain offering create-your-own stir-fry bowls, plus appetizers, desserts & cocktails. But, for those of who knew it, it was much more then that!
BD’s Mongolian Grill was the original create-your-stir-fry restaurant, serving up a unique, fun and interactive Asian-fusion experience, established in 1992. Guests were invited to create their perfect bowl from a variety of hand-chopped vegetables, premium proteins, sauces, spices and more. Guests could also let the Chefs do all the work, and order Chef-curated stir-fry bowls, featuring elevated flavors and premium ingredients delivered straight to the table. Combine that with delicious starters and delectable desserts, a craft cocktail from their full bar and top-notch service, and you had the unique BD’s experience that only they could provide.
It was like a stir fry buffet, quite honestly. The best part was that it was located right in the strip with Mac’s Backs books and Big Fun Vintage Toy Store. A great time could be had be several members of the family.
Sadly, like many incredible small companies, COVID completely killed this one too at that location. They still have them in Canton, Columbus and Toledo, but for most of us who live near Cleveland, just isn’t practical.
I think it is time we bring it back!
