The Last Ride Episode Four was everything in this documentary I have begging for it to be the entire time. It was a real look behind the scenes at the early stages of his career and it was incredible.
The vintage photo’s and audio alone are worth their weight in gold of a young Taker in the early days of his WWF reign. This episode is what it should have been like from day one.
When the episode gets back to current day, it is very fun and also emotional to watch him as a father and husband once again with his family at WrestleMania Access.
The first Mania he didn’t compete in since 2000. (16 years prior.) It was weird for The Undertaker and re-fueled his fire to keep wrestling despite his recent struggles in Saudi.
Speaking of Saudi, it went from bad to worst as his next Saudi show would be against Goldberg. It was perhaps the worst match of his entire career. And that’s says a lot considering his WrestleMania IX match against Giant Gonzales.
I’ll never forget watching it that sunny Thursday afternoon as it appeared Goldberg dropped him squarely on his head. The rest of the match was unwatchable until it was mercifully over. The Undertaker couldn’t let it end like that and luckily was almost instantly given a second chance.
He was booked in the curtain jerking match at Extreme Rules tagging with Roman Reigns against Shane McMahon and Drew McIntyre. The match was good, not great, and the taste for one final sendoff remained.
That is where we enter the fifth and final chapter of this saga. Is AJ Styles the perfect opponent to end the career of The Undertaker? Was it supposed to be a match, or was it supposed to be a movie all along? Episode Five will be sure to answer those questions and more.
Does The Undertaker finally announce his retirement to conclude episode Five and the series?
