Jon Cryer once starred in one of the best shows on television as he played one of the lead characters for 12 seasons on the hit comedy “Two and a Half Men”. Sadly, he now plays one of the main characters in a show that has no chance at seeing 12 episodes, let alone seasons. Extended Family on NBC is perhaps the worst show on television right now, if not ever.
This, “sitcom’ is not funny, the actors and actresses have zero chemistry, and each episode finds a way to get worse then the last one. It features a divorced family that somehow still lives in the same house together, or at least sometimes, they still haven’t explained how that works. But when Jon Cryer, the ex husband is there, he sleeps in the same bed that his ex wife Abigail Spencer and new fiancée Donald Falson sleep in. Make sense of that?
The show was doomed five minutes in when they had a “reverse wedding”. Yes, that’s right, a full wedding and reception to celebrate their divorce. Jon Cryer is once again playing the dorky ex husband to a beautiful ex wife. It is simply not believable. It is as though, they tried taking his Allan character from Two and a Half Men, shaved his head and tried it again but in a much more messed up scenario that no one in their right mind is going to believe.
One episode featured Cryer and Falson having an argument about foot stains on the wall that happened from a wild night of sex while Cryer was still married to Spencer. It made no sense, and was just dumb. Another episode featured them trying to cover up the fact that a 13 year old girls goldfish was dead. I don’t know a single 13 year old girl who is going to care about a goldfish. Just plain dumb!
Do not waste your time trying to watch this show. They begin the title of each episode with, “The Consequences of” . Folks, the only consequences you have to worry about watching this show, is boredom and having your intelligence insulted.
Here are just a few of the google reviews of what other people are saying about this “sitcom”.
