by As we head into AEW Worlds End tonight, I cannot help but think about how much of a factor Chris Jericho has been in the company’s success. In fact, not only AEW, but Jericho is reaching GOAT status in the entire industry.
Chris Jericho has gotten over in every promotion he has starred in, ECW, WCW, WWE, ROH and AEW. He awed fans in Japan and Mexico as well. When it comes to Jericho, he has proven that size and age is only a number when you have talent, charisma and undeniable athletic skill.
He has excelled in tag, cruiserweight, heavyweight and everything in between. As a mentor, I’m not sure AEW and Tony Khan could have a better one on their hands. Jericho has gotten everything over from a clipboard and a scarf, to the names The Ocho and The Painmaker. From Y2J to Le Champion, it doesn’t matter what you call him, the most accurate term is simply GOAT!
For Jericho as he enters the twilight of his career, one thing is for sure, he doesn’t have to worry about other income avenues drying up. He is a multi-time author, Hallmark movie star, rock star, Cruise Ship attraction and even a game show host at times. From the ring to the big screen, there is nothing this man cannot do.
His career has been allegation free, and he is a true role model in and out of the ring. Let’s all take this moment, to stand back, and bow to the greatness of Chris Jericho! Let’s crack open a bottle of the bubbly and toast to the goat!
