by The Bears’ bats were hot from the start as North Royalton shut out Wadsworth 11-0 in Suburban League action Thursday evening. Senior pitcher AJ Dezzutti pitched a complete game gem for the home squad, allowing just three hits and striking out four.
In the bottom of the first, Cody Miller got things going for the Bears with a ground-rule double, followed up by a single from Mario Escano. With one out, Ben Boracz hit a line drive double to center, scoring both runners and putting North Royalton up 2-0 early.
AJ Maruniak led things off in the home half of the second by reaching on an error. Walks to Miller and Mario Escano loaded the bases for senior catcher Patrick Ferrell. Ferrell lined a ball into the outfield, scoring Maruniak and Miller to stretch the lead to 4-0. A walk to Antonio Escano loaded the bases, and up came Jake Paluczak, who laced a ball into the outfield, bringing home two more runs. In his second at-bat of the inning, Maruniak drew a walk, and Paluczak scored, making it 8-0 Bears after three innings.
In the top of the fourth, Kyle Figuray got aboard with a one-out, infield single for Wadsworth, but Dezzutti got his second ground ball double play of the game to end the threat.
In the bottom of the inning, walks to Antonio Escano, Ryan Miezin, and Maruniak loaded the bases for Jack Hefke. After a passed ball scored Escano, Hefke hit a single to right that scored two and stretched the North Royalton lead to 11-0.
The Grizzlies went quietly in the top of the fifth as Dezzutti struck out two on just ten pitches, giving the North Royalton Bears an 11-0 run-rule victory.

Wadsworth will look to get back into the win column Friday evening as they host Mayfield in a non-conference matchup at 5 pm.
North Royalton improves to 11-0 on the season and will look to continue its winning ways on Friday when it plays Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin.
