How AEW Taught The Entire Sports World A Lesson Last Night

AEW showed the entire sports world last night what they need to do to fight against the insanity that this Pandemic, “The RONA” has caused.

They held a legitimate and extremely well-done sporting event broadcast on national television that was enjoyed by millions. They didn’t have one “fan” in the live crowd and didn’t sell one ticket. They simply put on a show and gave the rest of the sporting world a valuable lesson.

While every other sport sits at home and keeps their players, coaches and fans in a quarantine, the AEW showed them exactly what to do if they want to try their hands at entertaining fans worldwide at a time when the sporting world desperately needs it.

The concept was simple as essential personnel only gathered inside TIAA Bank Field in Jacksonville. All wrestlers on the card were listed as healthy before performing and the wrestlers not performing on the card sat in the crowd and made as much noise as possible.

It was simple, it was brilliant, it was entertaining! They supported their peers in the ring and gave the fans watching at home what they wanted to see.

All four announcers at the broadcast booth kept reality in check, but also allowed the fans watching to escape. You had to try hard to even realize or notice there was no fans in the crowd.

The UFC has begun to do the same thing with the exact same concept, and it is working too. They held a card in Brazil over the weekend that was also very entertaining, and action packed. Again, the essential personnel only were in attendance and it worked perfectly.

Pro Wrestling and MMA are not stopping. Who tries it next? Why not two tennis players? Two boxers? People are so afraid to recommend anything right now because the mass hysteria surrounding the world. It won’t be much longer until Golf schedules a one on one match play just to do something to give back to the fans.

Give it time and keep an open mind. AEW broke down a serious walls last night, and so did the UFC last weekend.
