Holy Name to Leave Great Lakes Conference;
Join Newly Formed North Coast Conference
Competition in the NCC will begin in Fall 2024
for Green Wave Athletic Teams
PARMA HEIGHTS, OH (May 31, 2023) – Holy Name High School, currently a member of the Great Lakes Conference (GLC), is departing the GLC to join the new North Coast Conference (NCC). This athletic league will also include Beaumont, Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy, Elyria Catholic, Lake Catholic, Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin and Padua Franciscan.
Holy Name will remain in the Great Lakes Conference during the upcoming 2023-24 school year. Green Wave Athletic Teams will begin North Coast Conference play in Fall 2024.
“Holy Name has enjoyed being a member of the Great Lakes Conference, and now looks forward to joining the North Coast Conference in Fall 2024,” said Holy Name Athletic Director Richard Kozub. “With several conferences in Northeast Ohio experiencing changes recently, including the GLC, this opportunity to join and form a new conference was one we could not pass up. We wanted to be in a conference with schools that have similar enrollments and sports offerings to Holy Name, and we have found that in the NCC. Each of the seven schools believes the NCC will offer high levels of competition across all sports, providing great experiences for our student-athletes.”
