It was all Holy Name tonight as they defeated Buckeye soundly in a GLC Clash. The Namers took out the Buckeye Bucks 35-6. They will now travel to Elyria Catholic next week for the GLC Championship.
The Namers once again used an unstoppable run game to dominate. Their first score came on a pass, albeit, to a tailback as Austin Wondolowski caught it and then rumbled up field for a 15-yard touchdown. This was the only score of the first quarter and it looked for a moment that perhaps Buckeye could hang with Holy Name, but it wasn’t meant to be as Holy Name exploded for 28 points in the second quarter.
Less then a minute into the second quarter, the Namers extended the lead to 14-0 with a Kriztion Sanchez 5 yard touchdown run. The Namers explosive quarter was just getting started as less then 2 minutes later, they would strike again, and this time it was huge. Quarterback Jayvon Williams scrambled out of the pocket and took off for a 82 yard jaunt to paydirt!
Up 21-0 with over 8 minutes left in the second quarter, the Namers began to pile on. After a Sanchez 19-yard touchdown run made it 28-0 with 6:36 to play, it was then time for Keason Garner to join the show. Garner put the Namers up 35-0 with a 45-yard touchdown run of his own to finish the Holy Name second quarter barrage.
The player of the game is Kriztion Sanchez with 2 touchdown runs
