by Grip Genie was made because we love grip strength! Jon Call (aka Jujimufu) and Tom Boyden had been making fitness YouTube videos for a couple years with some success, then on a weird day in 2018 we decided to make a grip strength video.
The video didn’t take off immediately, but we made a few more and something clicked with our audience and YouTube viewers and the videos on grip strength gained massive popularity
Millions of views later, we were driving back from a “YouTube Tour” to Canada and we both thought, why don’t we make our own grip tools? Ten minutes later Tom thought of the name “Grip Genie”, based on the popular video game “cheat code” interface called “Game Genie”.
After finding the right manufacturers, we released our first product line in March of 2019 and debuted it at the Arnold Sports Festival with our “Grip Funhouse”. It was widely successful, and we didn’t know why people liked picking up weird steel objects with their hands so much.
That weekend we nearly sold out of our first order of goods and since then we’ve expanded into grip tools that aid strength athletes, traditional athletes and pretty much anyone who uses their hands!
