4th Round – Pick 110
OT – James Hudson – Cincinnati
There is a lot to dissect with this selection. There is plenty of raw potential here but also plenty of large question marks. Where do I begin?
He only played one year at Cincinnati after transferring from Michigan where he was attempting to play defensive line. He had some mental issues which ended up being another reason for the transfer. Again, a lot to dissect here.
Let’s talk about some of the good things however. He has a level of explosion, power and speed that not many one-year starters have. He showed immeasurable skills at Cincy that made him scary good and someone the Browns may be able to count on for many years to come. He knows how to use his lower half combined with dynamic footwork to block anyone in his path.
Grade B – This pick has boom or bust written all over it. I would have liked the sure thing to add much needed depth to this line. But in the fourth round, those guys are long gone. Worth the gamble.
