The State of Ohio Governors office has been working closely with the OHSAA for months on the direction of re-opening fall sports. While things look extremely bleak for fall sports, no one appears to be going down without a fight.
“Sports are more than just games – They teach young people about hard work, perseverance, & teamwork. #IWantASeason because I want those opportunities as soon as possible for today’s young athletes & our success in slowing the spread of COVID-19 will help make that happen”, said LT. Governor Jon Husted
Will there be sports this fall? It is anyone’s guess. If this is what will provide sports in the fall, then let’s pull together and do it. Use the hashtag #IWantASeason to encourage healthy habits and pre-caution of spreading the COVID 19 Virus even further.
Give these kids a chance!
Let my son finish his last year of high school football. He’s being evaluated by numerous colleges for possible football scholarships. All the years of football starting from 4th grade flag, youth tackle, junior high, JV, varsity football, speed and agility, QB coaching all need to add up to something.

It really is more than a game, for some, it is a chance to move on from where they come from and start a new chapter to their lives. Sports for some is a way to open the door to new opportunities that would not otherwise be available.
I agree..these kids work hard..my Grandson goes to school, lifts wts. After school, then goes to basketball practice. Gets home late has homework (he’s an honor student).. he plays football, basketball, baseball and acme baseball. Don’t take away his sports!! Or any other kids, they love it.
My son is a senior. A lot rides on this years cross country season for him. He wants to compete! Please let them. We are aware of the risk.
Sports are important for both physical and emotional well being for children. For many it’s the thing that keeps them going, keeps them out of trouble and keeps them motivated in school.
Please let my son and all of the other seniors have their final Marching Band Season! It means so much to these kids that have been a family for five years!
