Garfield Heights defeats Imani Christian (PA), 66-46

University Heights, Ohio – Garfield Heights defeated Imani Christian (PA), 66-46, in Game #3 of the Play-By-Play Classic at John Carroll University.

At the end of the first quarter, the teams were tied at 11.

Th score was tied at 20 in the second quarter before Garfield Heights went on a 10-1. This pushed their lead to 31-21 going into the half. Marcus Johnson had eight points in the quarter and 11 in the first half. Tommie Benn added six.

Imani Christian fought back, cutting their deficit to as little as five. Sophomore guard Dame Givner had nine points in the third quarter for the Saints.

The Bulldogs led 46-38 before going on a game-deciding 10-2 run to ice the game. Tommie Benn, Marcus Johnson, and DeAndre Jones each knocked down huge shots for Garfield Heights. As a result, their lead swelled to 56-40 with 6:21 left.

Garfield Heights (9-1) takes on Cleveland Central Catholic in a non-conference contest Tuesday, January 10th, and travels to Bedford for an LEL contest Friday, January 13th. Freshman Marcus Johnson had 25 points to lead all scorers, followed by 20 from senior guard Tommie Benn.

Imani Christian (PA) (3-5) hosts Aquinas Academy (PA) Tuesday, January 10th, and travels to Summit Academy (PA) Friday, January 13th. They were led by 22 from Dame Givner.
