From The Desk Of Vince McKee 1.0

From The Desk of Vince McKee is a new editorial piece that contains thoughts belonging only to me and does not reflect the thoughts of my staff or company sponsors.

I’ve noticed the non-stop political posts have calmed down a bit since the election is over.  People got so heated up about it, no matter what side you took others took it personal.  I’m glad it’s over and hope that no matter where you stand, you can continue to respect the opinions of others as well. I mean, who really knows?  I’m anti mask but pro vaccine.  I’m Italian, but have never seen the Godfather. So again, who really knows?

It reminds me of when my first book HERO was published in October 2012 and so many people got pissed because I kept posting the link for readers to purchase the book.  I would post blurbs, or on-line articles others wrote to promote it and people took it so personal. People on Facebook actually got pissed off that I was trying to promote my book.  It wasn’t just HERO either, I did this for my next five books after that.

All of this led to a chance meeting with legendary Cleveland Author Terry Pluto who gave me excellent advice.  He told me that one day soon I needed to write for a paper, or on-line blog.  He explained that if I got my name out there that books sales would boost even more.

The fact is, Terry was 100% right and I did just that.  I began writing for an on-line blog called the Inscriber Digital Magazine until one day a few members of the Cleveland Plain Dealer showed up at my book signing for Ohio Warriors and talked me into scribing for them.

Truth be told, this was a dream come true because as a kid and a teenager I always wanted to write for them one day.  I grew up reading the PD but had no interest in writing for the website Cleveland.com.  Sadly, I learned pretty quickly after getting the side gig, that the main concept of what they wanted from me was video’s for dot com of High School Football.

Well, standing at a generous Five Foot Six inches, let’s just say, that was not a match made in Heaven.  I soon grew tired of articles under 400 words and trying to mesh video’s together until the wee hours of the morning after covering games.  Thus my dream of reading my words in the Saturday morning paper fizzled quickly when it became all about video’s.

While that experience left a really bad taste in my mouth, it did plant the seed for High School Sports coverage in my heart.  Thus, the search for a website where I could focus on writing came about, and I took it.  Years later, I started Kee On Sports and haven’t looked back.  My love of High School Sports coverage has only grown deeper since.

However, it all goes back to square one, selling copies of HERO.  Book 1 of 9. So, with that being said, here it is, BUY HERO!
