Free Agents Signings Tony Khan Needs to Land Next For AEW

Drew McIntyre

Reason – His deal with WWE is about to run out, and rumor has it the two sides are not even remotely close on a number to bring him back into the fold.  He was the biggest victim of the pandemic, as his entire run on top had zero fans in the crowd, so we never truly saw what kind of numbers he could have put up attendance wise.  Not to mention, they have had several chances to put the strap back on him since fans returned, but WWE creative has gone against that notion at every turn.

Perhaps there was never a bigger and better moment to reward him then at Clash at the Castle back in September, and they chose not too.  He works through injury, and has never shied away from putting people over since his return to WWE in 2017.  Call him Galloway and let him take off as he would be an instant hit, and headliner in AEW.  It wouldn’t need the slow build like they have shown with guys such as Keith Lee, Adam Cole and Jay White.  Galloway / McIntyre would be a headliner day one, just like Bryan Danielson and CM Punk became.
