Five Men The Cleveland Browns Should Have Kept Around

Gregg Williams

Gregg Williams inherited a 2-5-1 football team with a rookie quarterback in the middle of the 2018 season.  Hue Jackson before him, managed to go 3-36-1 lifetime as the head coach of the Cleveland Browns. Williams instilled much needed discipline, culture and motivation that the team was lacking under Jackson and instantly turned things around. Under Williams, the Browns won 5 of their last 8 games, with the only losses coming to powerhouse Kansas City in his first game as coach, and then Deshaun Watson and the Houston Texans and Lamar Jackson on the road.  Williams, put the Cleveland Browns back in the playoff hunt as they were suddenly 7-7-1 heading into the final week of the season before the loss at Baltimore.  Instead of keeping him around they opted to hire Freddie Kitchens in the offseason while trading away draft picks for OBJ.  Both, were giant busts!
