Firelands Tops Brookside 57- 23

Brookside started the game by being able to handle the 1-3-1 Falcon pressure defense . Bella Diaz benefited from the  Cardinals  effort by hitting an open three early in the first to give the Cardinals a 5 to 2 lead early.

However, the next four minutes and 41 seconds would be all Firelands as leading scorer Jordyn  Copley scored five straight points to give the Falcons a 14-7 lead before the end of the first

Copley again would get the Falcons started as she hit another bucket to increase the lead . Then Falcons Mount Union recruit Kendra Hardwick would get a transition layup, Isabell Bermudez would get fouled on a put back attempt and hit the front end of two free throws along with Aubrynn  Reichle bucket and Stella Fredrick 3.

That stretch would give the Falcons a lead that they would never relinquish . Brookside Cardinals Sophomore standout Markie Aliff who avg 10pts and 9 rebounds got it going with a bucket to end the half . However, the Falcons had already had a double digit lead 24-14 going into the break.

The drought would continue as the Cardinals went scoreless from the field for the first 4 minutes of the 3rd. Aliff would hit a 3 to make it 36-19 at the 1:36 mark. Falcons called a time out, Aliff hit a dribble drive layup for the Cardinals out of the TO, but it would prove to be to little to late as the combination of Jordyn Copley 6, McKenzie Janosik 4 and Dylinn Copley 2 and Micah Lee got rolling.

In the last stanza, senior Captain Hardwick would not be denied getting a steal and finishing it off with a layup. Hardwick would finish the night with 9 only trailing J. Copley who lead all scorers with 16. But the highlight of the lopsided 4th was sophomore Stella Fredrick who hit a 3 from the corner and another from the top of the key to end the game with 9 pts all from behind the arc.
