by The Field Falcons remain undefeated in large part thanks to running backs Drexal Mcamis and Victor Brown. Field’s strong running game was enough for them to beat the Woodridge Bulldogs 20-14. The Falcons have now improved to a 4-0 to start their 2024 season.
Drexal Mcamis scored on a 17 yard touchdown run on Field’s opening drive to put the Falcons up 7-0 early in the first quarter. On Field’s next drive Drexal Mcamis scored again on a 11 yard touchdown run to put the Falcons up 14-0. This led to a 14-0 Field lead at the end of the first quarter.
In the second quarter Bulldogs quarterback Gavin Lynch threw a 23 yard touchdown pass to Andrew Stull making the score 14-7 with Field leading. On the Bulldogs next possession Gavin Lynch would throw a 32 yard touchdown pass to Andrew Stull with 21 seconds remaining in the first half. This led to a 14-14 tie game at halftime.
In the third quarter Field’s Victor Brown intercepted Woodridge’s Gavin Lynch in the endzone on the opening drive of the second half. The interception eventually led to Drexal Mcamis scoring for a third time on a 33 yard touchdown run. This put the Falcons up 20-14 after a missed PAT in the third quarter.
Midway through the fourth quarter Falcon running back Victor Brown lost a fumble with 6 minutes remaining in the game. On the Bulldogs ensuing drive quarterback Gavin Lynch lost a fumble of his own with just 3 minutes remaining in the game. Woodridge would have one last chance to win the game on offense but Gavin Lynch would lose yet another fumble with only 30 seconds remaining. This led to the Falcons simply kneeling out the clock to secure a 20-14 victory.
