by Here we go again folks. Seems like when I get a breaking news alert it has to do with another ex athlete gone wild. Former Cleveland Browns star Kellen Winslow Jr. is facing charges that include sodomy and rape in a California court.
One of the victims allegedly was a 54 year old homeless woman and two others. He has pleaded not guilty and could face life in prison if convicted.
In 2018, the 54 year old was hitchhiking when Winslow picked her up and attacked her behind a car park, the woman said she was “too scared to scream”. Later that same year, Winslow Jr allegedly befriended a vulnerable 59-year-old homeless woman who she said sodomised her in May.
The wife of a Marine also came forward and reported she was raped by him when he was 19 and she was 17 years old in high school in 2003.
Winslow’s lawyer claims he didn’t deny having sex with the women but continues to maintain they were consensual.
It is getting to be a horrid pattern with these athletes and their behaviors. I for one am tired of reading and writing about spoiled rich athletes who think they can get what they want when they want and all they think they have to do is right the ship. A few apologies and some counseling and all is well.
Maybe it’s time that the hammer starts hitting hard. Maybe if others see that there are substantial penalties for their actions it will change the mindset of these spoiled, entitled simpletons. There has to be an example set, suspending players and their game checks don’t cut it. Accountability should be the new NFL.
