Elyria Catholic Panthers Clinch Spot in Baron Cup Final With 4-1 Victory Over Olmsted Falls Bulldogs

The Elyria Catholic Panthers took on the Olmsted Falls Bulldogs in the semifinals of the White Division in the Baron Cup. The Panthers held the Bulldogs in check all night and rolled to a 4-1 victory. 

The Panthers could not have asked for a better start to this one. Just 46 seconds into the game, Jayden Brown scored to put them up 1-0. A power play goal by JoJo Janscura made it 2-0 Panthers with 8 minutes to go in the first.

Owen Butterfield got the Bulldogs on the board with a goal in the second period. Shortly after, Brady Basinger found the back of the net to extend the Panthers lead to 3-1. Olmsted Falls had a power play opportunity late in the period, but were unable to convert.

Zachary Basinger added another goal for Elyria Catholic with 7:11 to go in the third period. The Panthers cruised the rest of the way. The Bulldogs actually outshot the Panthers 28-26. However, Panthers goalie Dominic Morris was a brick wall all night, saving 27/28 shots.

The Panthers advance to the Baron Cup White Division Championship game. They will look to the capture the cup against the Avon Lake Shoremen on Saturday.
