Eagles Soar Past Shoremen 7-3

Travis Vitaz was clutch at the plate with runners on base on Thursday, driving in five on three hits to lead North Olmsted Eagles Varsity past Avon Lake 7-3 on Thursday. Vitaz drove in runs on a home run in the first, a single in the third, and a double in the sixth.

In the first inning, North Olmsted Eagles Varsity got their offense started. Vitaz homered on a 1-0 count, scoring two runs.

North Olmsted Eagles Varsity scored three runs in the third inning. Carter Lynes and Vitaz all drove in runs in the frame.

George Trapletti earned the win for North Olmsted Eagles Varsity. He surrendered three runs on five hits over six innings, striking out four. Nolan Wagner threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.

Dudgeon took the loss for Avon Lake. He surrendered five runs on five hits over two and two-thirds innings, striking out five.

North Olmsted Eagles Varsity socked one home run on the day. Vitaz put one out in the first inning.

Vitaz led North Olmsted Eagles Varsity with three hits in three at bats.

Avon Lake totaled six hits in the game. Kuwalu and Flinn each managed multiple hits for Avon Lake. Avon Lake was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Kuwalu had the most chances in the field with 11
