Eagles Defeat Warriors 15-10 In Hardball Battle

North Olmsted Varsity Eagles defeated Fairview 15-10 on Thursday after taking the lead late in the game.  The game was tied at six with North Olmsted Varsity Eagles batting in the bottom of the sixth when Darren Krider drew a walk, scoring one run.

 

Bats blistered as North Olmsted Varsity Eagles collected seven hits and Fairview tallied 14 in the high-scoring game.

 

Fairview fired up the offense in the second inning, when Weir singled on a 1-2 count, scoring two runs.

 

Fairview scored four runs in the seventh inning.  Fairview’s big inning was driven by a single by Rizzo,  by Hill, and a fielder’s choice by Burke.

 

Joey Wengstrom took the win for North Olmsted Varsity Eagles. The righty lasted one inning, allowing four hits and four runs while striking out one.  Krider threw one-third of an inning in relief out of the bullpen.

 

Weir took the loss for Fairview. The pitcher allowed three hits and nine runs over one and two-thirds innings, striking out one.

 

Hill started the game for Fairview. The bulldog lasted four innings, allowing four hits and four runs while striking out three Gannon Graf started the game for North Olmsted Varsity Eagles. The pitcher allowed ten hits and six runs over five and two-thirds innings, striking out six

 

North Olmsted Varsity Eagles scattered seven hits in the game. Krider and Dominic Costello each racked up multiple hits for North Olmsted Varsity Eagles.  Costello and Krider each managed two hits to lead North Olmsted Varsity Eagles.
