5 reasons I didn’t watch the Browns game last night by David DeLuca
As a Browns fan for all my life 37 years I debated all day Monday January 3rd if I would watch my beloved Browns play. Other than the 1996-1998 seasons I have cheered for the Browns. I can remember back as a Kid when My Dad and Grandfather would yell at the TV in the 80s thinking yeah that will not be me some day, well it is me. So here is what led me to not watching the Browns
Number 1: Honestly the Fact that it was a Monday night game starting at 8:15 played a giant factor in my choice, waking up at 4:45am for work everyday, it’s just too late at night to get vested in something. Have I done it before? You bet, but this time I just couldn’t do it for reasons coming up.
Number 2: The Browns were mathematically eliminated from the playoffs Sunday so there is nothing to play for, and it started so late it was a better choice for me to go to bed.
Number 3: I can’t take losing to the Steelers both times every year. My heart just can’t take it and the fact that we were out, and they still had something to play for is a recipe for a loss.
Number 4: It’s a time old tale that once you are eliminated from the playoffs and you have all this build up before the year and it’s a season you have as much adversity as the Browns had this year. It always looks like the team quits and again my heart could not take that from this team.
Number 5: The biggest thing for me is knowing it was Big Ben’s last home and I knew going into it there will be a GIANT LOVE FEST going on for him. And I feel he is a scumbag as a person and just because he had a great career, he does not deserve it.
BONUS REASON: I feel they would at some point show the drive, the fumble, red right 88, etc. and to a Cleveland fan, noting is worse.
