Crum and DiFranco Have Midview on the Move

It was a rough season at times for Midview Lady Middies’ as they battled injuries.  However, back-to-back wins over North Ridgeville and Avon to close out the regular season proved what they can do when healthy and fully stocked.  Three of the bigger reasons for their success was two rising stars at the junior level, Hunter Crum and Leah DiFranco, along with up and coming freshman starter Leila Morgan.

Both come from royal sports bloodlines in Grafton as the DiFranco family is known for hoops.  Olivia DiFranco before her injury in her senior year, was on pace to break every Midview record out there.  Liv was the real deal and her younger cousin Leah has many of those same traits.

Head coach Brittany McNamara-Cole had this to say about her young start, “Leah DiFranco is the heartbeat of our team. Her energy, leadership, and determination has fueled our success over the last few years. As the best player in the junior class in the SWC, she consistently rises to the occasion, delivering when it matters most. Her talent is undeniable, but it’s her work ethic and passion that truly set her apart, making her an inspiration to teammates and a force to be reckoned with on the court. “

The same can be said for the Crum family who also has a long history of success at Midview, including perhaps the best quarterback to ever come out of that school, Dustin Crum.  Young Hunter has a lot of those same skills of passion, desire, work ethic and hustle that has built her game to the impressive stature it is at.

I spoke with their head coach Brittany McNamara-Cole who had this to say about her exciting tandem, Leah and Hunter complement each other perfectly! Leah’s court vision sets up plays, and Hunter’s shooting makes them count. A solid point guard-shooting duo that keeps the game flowing for us and opens up things for others on the team! “

A rough season may be over, but clear skies appear to be ahead!
