Commanding Victory for the Olmsted Falls Bulldogs Over Holy Name at Cleveland Basketball Classic

Written by Nick Vasko

Olmsted Falls dominated from start to finish in a 78–49 win over Holy Name, setting the tone early with relentless full-court pressure and efficient transition scoring. Both teams opened the first quarter pressing and pushing the pace, but only the Bulldogs turned that tempo into results—breaking Holy Name’s press with ease and converting nearly every trip down the floor into layups or open looks.

Meanwhile, Holy Name struggled to find rhythm, settling for tough jumpers and missing most of them as Olmsted Falls’ disciplined defense forced turnover after turnover. The Bulldogs raced out to a 28–10 lead after one and carried a commanding 41–20 advantage into halftime without needing to run much half-court offense thanks to their overwhelming defensive execution.

Holy Name attempted to adjust in the third, slowing things down and finally running through full offensive progressions, but the heavy deficit made the comeback unlikely. A late surge—sparked by three turnovers forced by a renewed full-court press—briefly cut into the margin, earning Holy Name eight quick points, but Olmsted Falls remained poised and continued to convert whenever they successfully advanced the ball. The Bulldogs’ pressure on both ends never wavered, and their fundamentals, teamwork, and consistency carried them comfortably to the 78–49 victory.
